Description

Pure dates” are the natural, edible fruits of the date palm tree (Phoenix dactylifera), consumed in their original form without artificial additives or processing. They are a natural, whole food known for their concentrated sweetness and high nutritional value. 

Physical Description
Appearance: Dates are stone fruits (drupes) that are typically oval or cylindrical in shape and range from about 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.5 cm) in length.
Color: When ripe, their color varies by variety, ranging from bright yellow and red to golden brown and deep black.
Texture: They can be soft, semi-dry, or dry, depending on the variety and moisture content. Dried dates have a characteristically wrinkled or crinkled skin, while fresh dates have smoother skin. The flesh (pulp) is naturally sticky, soft, and meaty.
Core: Each fruit contains a single, long, slender seed (pit or stone) in the center, which is not edible.
