Description
Spätzle (pronounced “shpet-sluh”) are a type of soft, chewy, irregular-shaped egg noodle or small dumpling from Central Europe, most commonly associated with the Swabia region of Germany, as well as Austria, Switzerland, and Hungary. The name literally means “little sparrows” in German, referring to the shape of the noodles when traditionally made by hand.
